Producer Company 

Producer Company in India is under Companies Act, 2013. This Company can be formed by 10 individuals (or more) or 2 institutions (or more) or by a combination of both (10 individuals and 2 institutions).

Process of Registration

The registration method for such a Company is then similar to that of a Private Limited Company. Firstly obtain the DSC and DIN  for the first Directors of the Company. After having the DSC and DIN, the application for name reservation can apply to the Registrar of Companies (ROC). The name of a company must end with the words “Producer Limited Company”. After getting the name approval, file the application for incorporation in the prescribed format for incorporating the Producer.

If the Registrar is satisfied with the application for incorporation of the Company, then he/she will approve the same and issue Certificate of Incorporation. Once, a company is incorporated, it will function similarly to a private limited company subject to certain provisions. However, unlike a Private Limited Company, this Company does not have a limit on the number of members. Furthermore, though the name of a Company ends with the words “Producer Limited Company”, it shall under no circumstance become or be deemed to become a public limited company.
